Chiropractic Care for Shoulder Pain

What is causing your shoulder pain?

There are many different factors and conditions that can contribute to your shoulder pain. The most common is the rotator cuff because it allows your shoulder to rotate and move. Sometimes shoulder pain is the result of injury to another location of the body. This could be a type of referred pain, which usually does not get worse when you move your shoulder.

There are just so many ways to injure your shoulder, but how should you go about treating your shoulder pain?

Contact Dr. James Lambert located in Ronkonkoma because he will discover the cause of your shoulder pain! Additionally, he will collect information about your history and perform a physical examination. Along with those, he will find tenderness and swelling while determining your range of motion and joint stability.

Chiropractic care specifically addresses the disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous system. Our team is trained to recommend rehabilitative exercises and treatment! The following are some general prevention tips:

  • Stay in good physical shape by strengthening the muscles and decreasing stress on your shoulder

  • Maintain good posture and make sure you stand up straight and relaxed

  • Warm up well and stretch! It is essential to stretch after you exercise to keep warm muscles from cramping!

  • Wear protective gear during sports

  • Do not use alcohol or drugs  before participating in sports

  • Do not carry objects that are too heavy for you to handle

  • Avoid catching falling objects

  • Use correct body movements or positions

  • Avoid overusing your arm

Even though there are many different preventions to consider, an injury may still occur, it happens to the best of us! There is no need to worry because if you contact Dr.Lambert’s office today he will provide you with exercises and treatments to get you back on track to your daily activities! We look forward to hearing from you!
